Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation

The Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation was founded in 2004. It provides qualified individuals with funding for paying a certain type of out-of-pocket medical costs. All of the assistance from the PAN foundation will be for prescription drugs. Funding is offered for those qualified patients who are unable to afford their prescription medications on their own or who health insurance does not cover it. The Wheelchair Foundation

There is also a great resource to a regular wheelchair
(non-electric). If you’d like to apply for a free wheelchair from the Wheelchair Foundation (https://www.wheelchairfoundation.org/).

The free wheelchair would be lightweight, manual and weighs 50lbs (it can only hold up to 240lbs),
you may find a picture of it here: https://www.wheelchairfoundation.org/programs/wheelchair-360/

If you are interested, the first step would be to send an email to Jeff Juri at Jjuri@wheelchairfoundation.org, requesting paperwork (form and waiver). Once you've completed the paperwork, you will need to send over the completed form and proof of lifetime (not short-term) mobility need for a wheelchair. In this case, he explained it can be a Doctor's prescription stating that the individual requires a wheelchair because of Parkinson’s Disease and/or other medical conditions.

Assistive Technology Loan Program

The Assistive Technology Loan Program helps Maryland residents with disabilities and their families qualify for low-interest loans to buy equipment that will help them live, work, and learn more independently. ·

Who TAkes Care of the caregivers

Caregivers provide care in a wide variety of situations. Caregiving can be a very difficult task to accomplish, especially when it involves caring for an elderly parent. This is definitely a role reversal, which many individuals are not prepared for, or equipped to handle. Many caregivers fall under the category of the “sandwich generation.” Baby boomers are experiencing this phenomena at an alarmingly high rate. A Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that, there were more than 40 million caregivers in the nation. --CLICK HERE-- to read the full story.
